The sixth annual Badger Swine Symposium is being held Thursday, November 7, 2019 at the UW-Platteville Campus in Velzy Commons at Ullsvik Hall, located on the corner of South Hickory and Main Street.  The program is free to attend, with lunch sponsored by the Wisconsin Pork Association, but you must be registered by October 31.

Registration will begin at 9:30 am, with the program starting at 10:00 am.  The day will kick off with a Wisconsin Industry Exchange which will delve into some university research trials.  Dr. Pete Lammers, UW-Platteville animal science professor and students will discuss a probiotic scour treatment, a prebiotic/probiotic product to limit the use of antibiotics in the farrowing barn, and a niche feeding trial with hazelnuts on pork quality.  In the afternoon, we will hear the 2020 financial outlook and future trends for the industry from Mr. Steve Malakowsky, vice president of swine lending at Compeer Financial.  Following Mr. Malakowsky will be Dr. Patrick Webb, of the National Pork Board, on everything you wanted to know about foreign animal disease and what to expect when foreign animal disease hit, including implications on trade.

Additional speaker information, where to park, a registration brochure, and other details can be found at http://bit.ly/19BadgerSwine.
