Educational Travel Experiences

Travel beyond your county by participating in state offered trips and conferences. Sample Trips: Citizenship Washington Focus, National 4-H Conference, National 4-H Congress, Space Camp, Wisconsin 4-H & Youth Conference, and International Programs. Don’t miss this wonderful educational experience to traveling with and meet other 4-H members.

Applications Due November 1

Space Camp | WHEN: April 26-30, 2018

Hunstville, Alabama
Delegates team up for hands-on mock space missions and other STEM activities in this NASA program while exchanging ideas with 4-H youth from across Wisconsin.
Qualifications: Be in grades 6-8 at time of program, maximum age 15.
Cost: Delegate responsible for approximately $300.
Camp Counselors also needed and may be in 7th-10th grade at the time of program.

American Spirit Trip | WHEN: June 2018 

East Coast USA & Niagara Falls
Participants travel to Ohio, New York, Pennsylvania and more while exploring Valley Forge, an Amish Experience, Statue of Liberty, The Plymouth Plantation, Whale Watching, Niagara Falls, and more.
Cost: Delegate responsible for approximately $550.
Qualifications: Be in grades 8-10 at time of selection. Youth will need a passport (book or card).

Citizenship Washington Focus (CWF) |  WHEN: 8 days in the summer of 2018

National 4-H Center, Washington D.C.
In this leadership program participants learn the importance of civic and social responsibilities as they relate to the development of better citizens and leaders. The week consists of participatory workshops, speakers, committee work, field trips and social events.
Cost: Delegate responsible for approximately $550.
Qualifications: Be in 10th-12th grade at time of selection, minimum age 15 during program.

Explore Wisconsin | WHEN: 2 days in Summer 2018

WHERE: Wisconsin (destination chose by youth)
Cost: Delegate responsible for approximately $85.
Qualifications: Be in 6th-7th grade at time of program, maximum age 15.

Wisconsin 4-H & Youth Conference | WHEN: June 25-28, 2018

WHERE: UW-Madison
At this pre-college program in Madison where participants take part in educational seminars and assemblies and meet people from across Wisconsin. They are encouraged to take what they learn and share it with others in their home community.
Cost: Delegate responsible for approximately $125.
: Be in 7th-10th grade at time of selection.

National 4-H Congress | WHEN: November 23-27, 2018

Atlanta, Georgia
Delegates participate in self-development seminars, tours, and community service, while exchanging ideas with youth from across the nation.
Cost: Delegate responsible for approximately $550.
Qualifications: Be in 10th-12th grade at time of selection, Max age 18 as of January 1, 2017, Be enrolled in the Youth Leadership project.

Key Award

Recognizes 4-H participants, who have demonstrated consistent growth in the 4-H involvement, developed and applied their leadership skills, and actively participated in the functions of their 4-H club and community. Must be 14 as of January 1, 2017. Must have completed 3 years of 4-H and one year of youth leadership.

Form is needed for all Travel Experiences. The form can also be found in the trip packets.

 Chaperone Information Form

4-H Chaperone Application Form

Capable, caring adults play important roles in the lives of youth involved in 4-H Youth Development Programs. This form applies to all adults, paid staff, and volunteers, accompanying 4-H youth on a UW-Extension sponsored trip or event. The adult, by signing this form, agrees to conduct herself/himself in a responsible manner and abide by all expectations state in form.

Adult Advisor Application

Wisconsin 4-H Adult Advisor Application

Form is needed for Space Camp, National 4-H Congress, Citizenship Washington Focus, International Immersion programs. Applicants must be at least 21 years old (25 for some international experience) at the time of program. Applicants must have completed the Wisconsin 4-H Youth Protection program and currently be registered as 4-H leaders.
